Lancashire captain Glen Chapple leads the celebrations after claiming the wicket of Nottinghamshire counterpart Chris Read Championship challengers Lancashire will begin day three of their clash with Nottinghamshire needing 250 more runs to win with all 10 wickets intact.
A total of 16 wickets fell on day two, with Andre Adams taking three to finish with 6-71 as Lancashire slumped from 86-4 overnight to 179 all out.
Glen Chapple (6-70) then helped dismiss Notts for 233 to set up the run chase.
Alex Hales (50) and Graeme White (54no) hit the game's first half-centuries before Lancashire closed on 8-0.
Both sides will fancy their chances of winning from this position, although Lancashire will need to score the highest total of the match to win the game and pick up the points they need to go above Durham at the top of the County Championship.

After resuming on 86-4, Lancashire had no answer to Adams, who added to his scalps of Paul Horton, Stephen Moore and Mark Chilton on day one by removing Tom Smith, Gareth Cross and Steven Croft to help leave the home side deep in trouble at 137-8.
A useful 23 not out from Kyle Hogg helped ensure Lancashire would only have a first-innings deficit of 24, before Chapple got to work.
The veteran seamer had Riki Wessels, Adam Voges and Chris Read all caught behind, and removed Samit Patel's off stump as Notts slipped to 139-7 shortly before tea.
But Steven Mullaney (42) shared a match-high partnership of 71 for the eighth wicket with White, who made his first half-century for Notts, before Chapple returned to mop up the tail.
